Invicta Dynamos Canadian import Peter Vaisanen is backing the side to go on and win the title this season.

Vaisanen was instrumental in the side getting off to a 7-2 winning start against the Milton Keynes Thunder on Sunday night.

The 27 year old is back for his second spell at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl having played for the Dynamos during the 2009/10 season, where he scored 56 goals and made 54 assists in just 38 outings.

That form saw him snapped up in the EPL by the Sheffield Steeldogs and last year he iced in Finland for Lamarit in Kemi, but told KSN it was the lure of playing under the Dynamos regime once again that made him come back to Kent:

“It’s a good atmosphere here. Everyone has done a great job and improved the club tremendously. All the fans are unbelievable and the dressing room is great.”

“I’ve played all over Europe in places like Finland and it was a great experience, but it’s nice to come somewhere where you are loved.”

Getting the season off to a winning start sees the Dynamos go into this weekend’s double header at Wightlink Raiders and at home to Bracknell Hornets full of confidence and Vaisanen told KSN how he was thrilled with the way the side had played on Sunday, especially fellow Canadian import Justin Noble:

“We didn’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves, kept things simple and everyone played their part. It was a whole team effort and it was a bonus for me to get on the scoresheet, it’s part of my job and I hope to continue like that for the rest of the year.”

“There’s always pressure wherever you play, but that’s part of my game. Putting the puck in the back of the net is my life and part of my job.”

“Justin Noble is a great player who works hard on and off the ice. He did a great job here last year and is a leader in the changing room. We both go out and play as best as we can and we relish the challenge.”

Despite playing just the one game so far this season, Vaisanen is bullish about the Dynamos chances of silverware over the coming year:

“Our chances for this team are looking great and we’re going to win this title. I’m not going to guarantee it, but that’s our goal. We will take it one game at a time and we don’t want to look too far ahead, but we want to win this title and that’s what we are here for.”
